The Making of a Portrait

In this section Tom will walk us step by step through his thought processes in making some of his portraits. This can be of interest both to aspiring artists and also to those interested in commissioning a portrait. Since no two projects are the same, no two procedures are the same. Some portraits require more sittings and more time than others.

Due to recent interest in the official portrait of the former Speaker of the House, which was painted in the year 2000, that painting will be the first one featured in this section.
